PURPOSE:

We are looking for a cook with the potential to grow in responsibilities and working hours. She/ he prepares and serves a range of a la carte items which meet guest’s expectations while assisting in the supervision of junior members of the Kitchen Brigade. Her/ his tasks include assistance in the development of new dishes and products, managing kitchen staff and cooperating closely with the Head Chef, Line Management, Event Coordinator as well as Service Staff.

Next to being firm with healthy and holistic lifestyle and menu approaches, she/he maintains outstanding culinary skills, leadership skills as well as an entrepreneurial mindset.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure smooth daily business operations and processes, optimize processes continuously
  • Assist with organizing special events and special food promotions
  • Assist in the drafting of concept ideas and menus as well as their execution for all special events and functions
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of all food items in accordance with act.³’s food and beverage standards and standardized menu guidelines
  • Stand in for head chef in times of head chefs absence.
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen and personal hygiene
  • Assist in maintaining a comprehensive, current and guest focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversee their implementation
  • Work with superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures
  • Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
  • Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with requirements
  • Implement and practice HACCP
