The Senior Manager Running Communities Japan and SEAPAC isan important part of the global adidas Runners team. The team member will belocated in Tokyo as local expert supporting the team by the implementation of the globaladidas Runners (AR) strategyin Tokyo, Japan as well as 9 Cities across South East Asia and Pacific. A successful Senior Manager understands the local consumer, local adidas Running Teamas well as the global adidas Runners and guides and consults the local teams about the implementation of the adidas Runners concept. She or He will monitor and oversee the community development and propose adjustments of the concepts, based on local weave-in and feedback.

The Senior Manager will represent the needs of the adidas Runners in Japan and SEAPACtowards and work closely with the adidas RunnersCore Team, adidas Running BrandComm, Sports Marketing, CRM, Newsroom and more to ensure alignment and consistency when driving community engagement.


  • Be the main internal contact point for adidas Runners Communities and oversee planning in Tokyo and Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Saigon, Manila, Jakarta, Auckland, Sidney and Melbourne
  • Act as the communicator and connector between local and global adidas stakeholders representing a voice of the AR community
  • Provide consultation and support to ensure consistency across marketsfrom a wide and inclusive strategic point of view
  • Monitor regular AR activations in the cities, work withthelocal core team and agencies to ensure seamless execution of AR as well as delivery of KPI
  • Monitortheactivation of local community hubs and community spaces
  • Anticipate future consumer needs and create excitement for upcoming/new AR features and improvements
  • Collaborate with Brand Comm and Sports Marketing teams to build relationships with runners and influencers
  • Understand the characteristics of the digital ecosystem with and apply this knowledge to the needs of the community and brand when further developing the adidas Runners digital ecosystem together with the DBC Team
  • Conduct surveys and research with the ARCommunity to identify and better understand issues impacting the experience anddevelop potential enhancements to improve the experience
  • Regularly deliver AR status, user feedback, issues or potential risks and community insights and offer actionable next stepson an ongoing basis
  • Work closely with Newsrooms and Operation teams inimprovingtheoverall AR experience
  • Ensure all adidas standards, policies and processes are observed and followed


  • Bachelor’s degree in communication or Marketing / Master (is a plus)
  • 3+ years ofwork of professional experience in managing marketing projects in the sporting goods industry
  • Experience in working with sports communities
  • Skilled use, handling and understanding of all relevant social channels
  • Understanding the power of influencersand trends
  • Native Japanese Language skills
  • Fluent English
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to present new ideas effectively
